Full-Time Position Overview Brooksource Engineering Services is seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing, operations, and engineering teams in the development and production of high-quality products. This individual will play a key role in new product introduction (NPI), process development, and root cause investigations , while driving continuous improvement across quality systems and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities New Product Introduction (NPI) & Process Quality Support launch activities for new product introductions through APQP processes Develop and maintain process documentation including:
PFMEA / DFMEA
Control Plans Process Flow Diagrams Work Instructions Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and operations to ensure product readiness Review product performance data and troubleshoot anomalies with cross-functional teams Promote quality best practices through coaching in: Statistical methods Process control Root cause analysis Interpret metrology data and recommend tooling or process improvements Review and approve supplier PPAP submissions in alignment with AIAG standards Quality Investigations & Continuous Improvement Lead root cause investigations for internal and external quality issues Partner with suppliers, operations, and purchasing to establish quality standards and KPIs Investigate and resolve issues related to components and subassemblies Coordinate testing and validation activities to determine issue scope and root cause Develop and manage corrective action reports (internal and supplier-driven) Support supplier quality improvement initiatives Measurement Systems & Technical Expertise Serve as a subject matter expert in: Measurement systems analysis (MSA / GR&R) Capability analysis GD&T and tolerance stack-ups Ensure accuracy and compliance of internal and third-party testing (ISO, SAE, FMVSS, etc.) Support integration of robust design and tolerance methodologies into product development Quality Management System (QMS) Support implementation and maintenance of QMS aligned with:
ISO 9001
2015 IATF 16949 Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement of QMS processes Track and analyze Cost of Quality (COQ) and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics Drive initiatives to reduce defects and improve overall product quality Qualifications Required Skills & Experience Strong understanding of quality and engineering tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.) Ability to analyze data and make timely, informed decisions Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams Experience in manufacturing environments (e.g., injection molding, stamping, assembly preferred) Knowledge of metrology, GD&T, and measurement systems Preferred Automotive or regulated manufacturing experience Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance Work Environment & Travel Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment Exposure to moderate noise levels and production settings Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally Travel up to 20% (potentially including supplier or client sites) Why Brooksource Engineering Services?
