We are seeking to hire a BMS Systems Owner to join our company in Indianapolis. You will be responsible for BMS and Fire Alarm integration in the pharmacuetical industry
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own BMS (Building Management System) and Fire Alarm systems through design, construction, commissioning, and handover
  • Review and approve system documentation (URS, FRS, DDS, control narratives, cause & effect)
  • Ensure compliance with c
GMP, FDA
requirements, and applicable codes (NFPA, IFC, local AHJ)
  • Coordinate with EPCM, automation vendors, life safety consultants, and CQV teams
  • Oversee BMS architecture (HVAC controls, environmental monitoring, utilities integration)
  • Oversee Fire Alarm system design and integration (detection, notification, suppression interfaces)
  • Support FAT, SAT, integrated system testing (IST), and site commissioning
  • Lead functional testing including HVAC sequences, alarms, interlocks, and life safety cause & effect
  • Ensure proper calibration and validation of critical sensors (temp, humidity, pressure, etc.)
  • Manage deviations, CAPAs, and change control processes
  • Troubleshoot system issues and drive resolution to closure
  • Review and approve IQ/OQ protocols and reports
  • Ensure data integrity (ALCOA+) and audit readiness
  • Ensure complete turnover packages (as-builts, asset lists, software backups, O&M manuals)
  • Support site startup, validation, and operational readiness

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or related)
  • 5-10+ years experience in pharma/biotech or regulated environments
  • Strong knowledge of c
GMP, FDA
expectations, and GAMP5
  • Experience with BMS platforms (e.g., DeltaV BMS, Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls Metasys)
  • Experience with Fire Alarm systems (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, Siemens)
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, cleanroom controls, and environmental monitoring
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 72, NFPA 70) and life safety system requirements
  • Experience with integrated system testing (IST) and cause & effect verification
  • Familiarity with CQV lifecycle and validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ support)
  • Understanding of data integrity and electronic records (21 CFR Part 11 where applicable)
  • Ability to read P&IDs, HVAC schematics, and control logic diagrams
  • Strong experience in change control, deviations, and regulatory inspections
  • Vendor management and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
