Job Description

A growing plastics manufacturer is seeking a Quality Engineer - Plastic Injection Molding to own technical quality execution across manufacturing and customer programs, with a focus on customer‑facing quality and new products. About the Company The company offers an extensive training program and a collaborative culture. Key responsibilities Lead customer‑facing quality for current production and new product qualification/launch activities.​ Own structured problem solving and corrective actions (8D), including investigation, root cause, corrective/preventive actions, and effectiveness verification.​ Create and manage PPAP documentation (dimensional results, capability, MSA, control plans, etc.) and ensure outputs translate into robust manufacturing controls and inspection methods.​ Support engineering changes and new product introductions by assessing quality impact and updating control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions.​ Serve as a primary customer quality contact, leading communications on containment, corrective action progress, PPAP readiness, and requirements alignment.​ Take ownership of key
ISO 9001
elements, including internal audits, external audit readiness, and system effectiveness.​ Develop practical in‑process inspection strategies and fixtures, and drive continuous improvement of inspection plans.​ What you bring 3+ years in Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment; plastics/injection molding preferred.​ Demonstrated experience with 8D or similar structured problem‑solving, PPAP/APQP, and customer‑facing quality work.​ Working knowledge of ISO 9001, internal auditing, and QMS execution.​ Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP experience (IQMS a plus) and statistical tools such as Minitab.​ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred; strong relevant experience also considered.​ Strong math and blueprint reading skills; GD&T and ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA) are pluses.
