Job Description
MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Center, Telecommunication and Industrial and Defense applications. MACOM sells and distributes products globally via a sales channel comprised of a direct field sales force, authorized sales representatives and leading industry distributors. Our sales team is trained across all of our products to give our customers insights into our entire portfolio. Senior Quality Engineer The Quality Engineer - Senior will be responsible for direct tactical support of the businesses supporting the Diode and MMIC Business Units. The scope will involve Quality support as noted below for these products with respect to commercial and program related revenue. Additional contributions to the site quality system and continuous improvement initiatives will also be required.Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide Quality support for customer and internal related functions including customer specification reviews, Source Inspections, customer returns, root cause analysis, etc. From a Quality perspective, lead the review in collaboration with Operations and BU colleagues in analysis and tactical execution of requirements in manufacturing, testing, and inspections in compliance with customer and internal requirements, includingISO AS9100D
levels for aerospace applications. Also, ability to learn and contribute to MACOM's growingIATF 16949
Automotive Quality Management systems and related products. Provide guidance to Operations, BU and Quality colleagues on management and tactical support for any related business unit Quality issues. Interface with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with technical requirements and specifications. Knowledge of MIL-PRF-19500/38534/38535, MIL-STD-883/750/202, NASA-EEE-002, misc. JEDEC standards, and IPC-600 and 610 and other associated standards for Space and High Reliability applications is a positive. Support First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements. Be capable of generating and presenting to domestic and international customers (internal and external) problems and actions taken through an 8D framework with supporting detail. Be a practitioner in control plans and FMEAs with the ability to guide institutional learning on these methods. Become an initiative-taking "change agent" within the Quality group.Minimum Qualifications:
B.S./M.S.
in Electrical Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent) with 5 years of component and/or semiconductor experience, specifically in support of customers in the high reliability Military/Aerospace oriented businesses or for components supporting Automotive end applications. Understanding of semiconductor devices and components theory and manufacturing. Working knowledge of Military/Aerospace and/or Automotive certifications with related requirements. Equivalent experience in support of related semiconductor components will be considered. Ability to create, review and critique up to high reliability aerospace level screening test plans and manufacturing steps. Working knowledge of statistical sampling plans used for inspection or test of components along with the ability to perform statistical data analysis on large data sets. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Well-practiced organization and planning skills Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. MS Office experience (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Project) Statistical software experience (JMP, Minitab, etc.) a plus Ability to collaborate with customer inspectors in support of Source inspections, customer requirements, etc. Experience with Agile and/or SAP a plus.
