Jobs › Salisbury, MA › Quality Engineer PV Engineering & Manufacturing Quality Engineer Salisbury, MA Apply Company Overview We are a fast-paced, precision CNC machining job shop specializing in complex, high- reliability components for the aerospace and commercial industries. We pride ourselves on tight tolerances, flawless execution, and a culture of continuous improvement. We are looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to lead our quality management system and ensure every part leaving our shop floor meets rigorous customer standards. Position Summary The Quality Engineer will own our quality assurance and quality control processes, acting as the primary technical liaison for AS9100 compliance, customer source inspections, and root-cause corrective action (RCCRA) investigations. You will work directly with our machinists, programmers, and plant management to resolve non- conformances and optimize machining quality. Key Responsibilities ?
Quality Management:
Maintain, audit, and improve our AS9100-certified Quality Management System (QMS). ?
Inspection & Metrology:
Oversee first-article inspections (FAIs), in-process measurement protocols, ppap, and final acceptance of tight-tolerance milled and turned parts. ?
Root-Cause Analysis:
Lead root-cause and corrective/preventative action (CAPA) investigations using 8D, FMEA, and fishbone methodologies when non- conformances arise. ?
Blueprint & GD&T Mastery:
Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements. ?
Customer & Auditor Liaison:
Manage external customer audits, AS9100 registrar audits, and source inspection visits. ?
Shop-Floor Support:
Partner with CNC machinists to troubleshoot in-process quality variations, calibrate inspection tools, and validate machine setups. Qualifications & Requirements ?
Education:
Bachelor?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical manufacturing experience. ?
Experience:
Minimum 3?5 years of quality engineering experience within an aerospace or precision CNC machining manufacturing environment. ?
Standards Knowledge:
Deep familiarity with
AS9100 / ISO 9001
standards. ?
Technical Skills:
