Job Description

Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for determining production standards for EMP's products by establishing quality control systems and setting product requirement rules. Their duties include identifying the specifications for an ideal product, determining an appropriate level of variation and monitoring quality assurance rates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Bubbles customer and proprietary drawings, identify special characteristics and develop layout inspection template. Develops inspection requirements for production parts, including Receiving and Final Audit. Reviews and approves shop floor documentation. Assists with containment of product when a quality issue is reported. Issues quality watches and submits NCQRs. Aids production with resolution of quality problems. Participates in the development of FMEAs, Control Plans, and Shop Floor documents. Completes capability studies and product layouts Completes PPAP documentation, reviews, and submits to Customers. Responds to Customer complaints in supplier portals and works across departments to resolve issues. Participates in Customer APQP activities. Ability to conduct audits on the QMS for conformance to
IATF-16949
standards. Completes Internal PPAP documentation, reviews and submits to the Quality manager.
Education/Experience:
Associates' degree (A.A.) from a college or university; 5 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, basic knowledge of GD&T and statistics.
