Onsite Job Description Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality for electronic products.
This position involves working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and support teams to develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes and systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics and quality engineering principles, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Leads and prioritizes the activities of Quality Engineer Technicians. Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures for electronic components and systems (i.e. Control Plans)
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and support, to resolve quality-related issues and enhance product performance.
Root Cause Analysis:
Identify root causes of quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and monitor effectiveness.
Documentation:
Prepare and maintain detailed quality documentation including quality metrics (i.e. Scrap).
Continuous Improvement:
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including the use of Six Sigma, Lean, and other methodologies.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as IATF16949, IPC-A-610
standards, and RoHS compliance.
Leadership:
Leads and prioritizes the activities of Quality Engineer Technicians Requirements:
Experience:
Proven experience with minimum of 3-5 years in quality engineering within the electronics industry including strategic decision making within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of electronics design, manufacturing processes, and quality control methods. Knowledge of electronics industry standards (i.e. IPC-A-610, IATF16949
), Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, Geometric Dimensions & Tolerancing, Flow Diagrams, FMEA's, Control Plans, Statistics, and fixture development based on part GD&T.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written skills, adept at interacting with cross-functional teams and plant personnel at all levels, with solid organizational and interpersonal abilities. Able to represent the company in a professional manner with customers and suppliers.
Project Management:
Ability to facilitate and manage several large and complex projects simultaneously. Ability to thoroughly research, recommend, and oversee implementation of new products, materials, processes, etc. and present information.
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated ability to use basic measurement tools (Multimeter, LCR, height gauge, caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, indicator, etc.), statistical analysis tools and quality management software.
Problem Solving:
Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis using various problem-solving techniques including Six Sigma, Red X, 5 Why, 8D, 5-phase.
Attention to Detail:
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Adaptability:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (i.e. Six Sigma, CQE) are a plus.
