Job Description
Description Summary:
Quality Engineer supports updates to the quality system during launch including workstation readiness and training. This person manages GCA/DRR sufficiency and helps to drive resolution to issues impacting plant and external metrics. They will also manage the end of process flow of vehicles through the quality launch plan.Roles:
- Direct report to Quality Launch Manager
- Manage the implementation of Built-in-Quality (and related principles) into the assembly plant Quality System
- Ensure implementation of Built-in-Quality into other components of the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, execute, and track Manufacturing Quality Launch Plan to ensure all Manufacturing Quality Launch Plan deliverables are met.
- Support and execute Launch Process Deliverables
- Supervise the hourly Quality Core Team Specific Launch Manual Deliverables
- Launch Quality Targets beginning at the IV Phase
- Manufacturing Quality Launch Plan Established
- GCA sufficiency plans for each build event beginning at IV through SORP
- Validation Plan for Manufacturing System
- Program Quality Readiness Reviews (PQRR)
- Plant Launch Team Workshop
- Process Verification of Vehicles by auditing and quality assurance activities
- Launch Process Implementation Assessment
- Quality System Tryout
- Validation of Manufacturing Major Subsystems
- Batch & Hold
- Launch Drive Audit Quality Deliverables
- People - Qualified People
- Staff hourly Quality core team
- Ensure quality training plan is developed and implemented for Quality processes (Ex. PQS, standardized repair for critical torque and launch processes)
- Train Quality team members to standardized work
- Standardization - Standardized Work
- Develop team member standardized work (e.g., SOS/JES) for all on-line and off-line Quality Functions and provide quality inputs for production
- Built In Quality - Product Quality Standards
- Establish Product Quality Standards and ensure they are referenced in Production and Quality Standardized work Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
