A Product Quality Engineer evaluates and tests products and manufacturing systems, to ensure that products are produced that meet quality and performance standards as well as safety and regulatory requirements. Develops product quality standards and monitors production and product testing.
The Plant Quality Engineer ensures product quality, compliance, and process efficiency within our aerospace manufacturing facility. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to analyze nonconformances, perform root cause analyses, conduct internal audits, and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement and meet customer standards.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and inspection teams to ensure products meet quality and customer standards. Lead root cause analyses (RCCA), determine Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, and track corrective action effectiveness. Monitor quality metrics, analyze data trends, and eliminate non-value-added waste to reduce product defects. Review drawings, customer specifications, process controls, and First Article Inspection reports for compliance. Conduct internal product and process audits, acting as an escort for external auditors. Assist with process control plans, capability evaluations, and quality documentation updates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline. 3+ years of quality engineering experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with AS9100 standards, machined components, and technical drawing interpretation. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must meet U.S. person status (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) to comply with
ITAR/EAR
requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
GD&T training and experience with dimensional inspection techniques. Experience with advanced quality tools and frameworks (PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, A3, Lean/Six Sigma). Background in New Product Introduction (NPI), program start-ups, and formal MRB processes.
