Job Description

Morbark LLC located in Winn, Michigan is looking for a Quality Engineer. Reports to the Director of Quality Assurance. Essential Functions of the
Job:
Analyze quality performance utilizing statistical and analytical tools and methods. Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate reliability and accuracy of processes, products and production equipment. Develop and establish quality procedures and systems for inspection plans, quality trends, capability studies and verification/validation activities. Ensure process control documents adhere with set requirements. Assist in on time processing of non-conformances. Assist material-review disposition process through root cause investigation and Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA). Root cause investigation and CAPA development for warranty claims. Coordinate with suppliers and internal/external customers relating to quality trends, performance and corrective action. Interact with product development personnel to initiate, review and process engineering changes and new releases. Review product quality aspects such as planning, manufacturing methods and process specifications. Interact with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize documentation related to quality of products or process improvement. Develop and establish quality processes and documentation to provide evidence of conformance during manufacturing. Conduct QMS process, system or compliance audits as needed. Assist with Cost of Quality performance evaluation and management Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions. Experience with
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949
implementation and auditing. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP principles. Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). Certification as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) from the American Society for Quality preferred. Demonstrated ability to exhibit and model

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science field. Five years previous experience in a quality engineer, quality assurance, or related role. Five years previous experience working in a manufacturing facility.
