Job Description

Quality Engineer Quality Engineer Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations by ensuring products and processes meet quality, safety and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), performing inspections and audits, and applying tools such as FMEA and root cause analysis to reduce defects and improve process capability. Key Responsibilities Own and maintain quality control activities on the manufacturing floor, including in-process inspections and final product verification. Develop, document and maintain QMS procedures, work instructions and quality records to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Lead CAPA investigations:
identify issues, lead root cause analysis, define containment and corrective actions, and verify effectiveness. Plan and conduct internal and supplier audits to assess conformity with procedures and identify improvement opportunities. Perform First Article Inspection/FAIR and other acceptance activities to support new product introductions and design changes. Facilitate FMEA sessions and other risk assessments to identify, quantify and mitigate product and process risks. Analyze quality data and inspection results to track trends, generate metrics, and drive data-driven continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, procurement and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements. Support supplier quality management, including supplier evaluations, nonconformance handling and corrective action follow-up. Train production personnel on quality standards, inspection methods and QMS requirements to ensure consistent implementation. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology or related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment, including hands-on inspection and audit experience. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and experience maintaining QMS documentation. Proven experience with CAPA processes, root cause analysis techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone), and FMEA. Experience conducting inspections, First Article Inspection (FAIR), and using measurement/inspection tools and fixtures. Experience performing internal and supplier audits and preparing audit reports and corrective action plans. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and generate actionable improvements. Familiarity with quality tools and software (e.g., SPC, Minitab, QMS platforms) and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Relevant certifications (e.g., CQE, ASQ, Six Sigma) are a plus, as is experience with regulated industries and supplier quality management.
