Job Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining a corporate quality assurance system that promotes customer satisfaction and that positively impacts the financial performance of TAG
  • Shelby.
Champion continuous improvements efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective Quality Management System (QMS); initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate to raise the performance of the company's product lines. Educate and train employees as to their impact in the quality management system.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the
ISO 9001
2015 QMS Conduct internal audits to the
ISO 9001
2015 Standard. Manage quality control personnel on a day-to-day basis. Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development. Design, implement, and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection. Establish, implement, and maintain metrics (process capability, control charts, measurements quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions. Perform root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements through the use of 8D's, A3's and FMEA's. Establish collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trend that will improve product quality. Conducted or participated in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Develop process certification standards and assist in process certification. Review customer purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans. Basic understanding of running a CMM or Faro Arm and interpretation of GD&T. Launch Kaizen events for Continuous Improvements. Oversee calibration and testing programs. Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses. Participate in internal and external quality audits by being the Management Representative (MR)or Lead Auditor. Maintain required documentation of quality control processes. Maintain revision levels of quality control process documentation.
Requirements:
  • BS in quality engineering or equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge of
IATF 16949
to include APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control plans, PPAP and standardized work.
  • Knowledge in welding steel product in accordance to
ANSI/AWS
standard
  • D1.1
  • Ability to train manufacturing staff in matters of the quality process
  • Experience in design/prototype manufacture
  • Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Experience in designing and implementing quality management systems.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong computer skills including quality control applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Thorough understanding of general safety requirements.
  • Understanding of Mil Standards

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and occasionally bend and move about the facility Personal Protection Equipment
