Job Description

Summary of Job Content:
This position's responsibilities include ensuring that the manufacturing processes are efficient and accurate, documenting findings that would raise concerns, conduct quality tests while observe parameters, and implementing changes as necessary to meet the highest quality standards. This position should exhibit excellent problem-solving and observation skills to detect any irregularities and possible malfunctions. They also must be able to communicate effectively with the customer for feedback and corrective adjustments, address complaints, and immediately resolve any inconsistencies made. Key Accountabilities Working in a team-centered environment, the Quality Engineer will directly contribute to the goals and objectives of the quality department for the facility by driving continuous improvement in the quality systems and processes in the plant. This position will be key in affecting change within the production area by championing initiatives targeted at converting from a "reactive" to a "proactive" quality philosophy Maintain compliance with all plant safety systems and policies, and applicable laws/regulations; plan safety into all work Lead cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns Utilize lean manufacturing methodologies and problem solving/troubleshooting tools to identify root cause of issues and implement correction/preventative action items Identify, initiate, and implement continuous improvement projects related to the QMS (Quality Management System) that benefit the site Assist in deploying QMS training for all employees Own the 8D process for customer issues Lead Top Scrap Reduction Initiative in the plant Participating as an internal auditor Oversee calibration management solution for the production area Work closely with Quality Lab personnel to ensure effective implementation of receiving inspection Participate on cross-functional continuous improvement teams. Lead and execute improvement projects that affect product quality.
Education:
BS Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Engineering Management preferred) Certification through the American Society of Quality (ASQ) in one of the following areas preferred:
ASQ/CQE, ASQ/CSSBB, ASQ/CSSGB, ASQ/CQA
Experiences:
SAP experience (preferred) Experience working as quality engineer or supplier quality engineer; 5-7 years Experience implementing, administrating, and auditing ISO9001 Experience practicing and applying the following tools in a production environment (/PFMEA/SPC/MSA) Manufacturing background Knowledge of Microsoft office
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
