Job Description

Quality Engineer Responsible for management of the Quality/Laboratory activities, ensuring that products have been manufactured according to the specifications and seeking corrections/solutions. Maintain third party registration to IATF16949 or ISO9001 Powering Vehicles, Motion, Work, and Lives since 1966. Performance Expectations
  • Daily troubleshooting
  • Control plan development of all products
  • First piece setup sheets used in changeovers
  • Quoting new jobs (Evaluate gage requirements, inspection requirements, etc.)
  • Changeover review/inspection
  • Monthly product audit
  • Weekly Layered Process Audits
  • Respond to customer complaints
  • Timely disposition of rework
  • Customer contact as to part quality
  • Performance of PPAP
  • Quality training and techniques
  • Set-up and training on DataMyte
  • Improve gage methods
  • Quality system certification
  • Submit and follow-up on SDR's with suppliers
  • Lead and track APQP activities during development of new parts and processes Credentials
  • Minimum of two year technology degree or a minimum of five years in the quality field
  • Quality engineering and SPC courses
  • Experience in launching new parts / programs
  • Math skills (especially statistics)
  • Problem solving
  • Writing of SOP's / Work Instructions
  • Communication skills
  • Computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications
  • Organizational skills
  • Work well without supervision
  • Proactive resolution to quality issues
  • Supervisory skills
  • Training in development of Quality/Environmental Systems (TS16949/ISO14001) Desired Characteristics
  • Good Communication skills and ability to coordinate projects between engineers, contractors, technicians and suppliers
  • Ability to decide appropriate materials, measuring tools, methods and standards of equipment to use for projects
