Position Summary:
Be the leader of project activity and cross-functional area teams resolving quality issues and improving quality systems to protect the brand image, ensure customer satisfaction and support plant and Company goals. This position has critical responsibilities in assuring product confirms to internal and external requirements and will drive and support the Quality Systems, TQMS, procedure maintenance and new procedure implementation. The Quality Engineer will lead and support continual process improvements, investigate customer complaints and develop corrective action while addressing root cause. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for overall product conformance. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of quality compliance efforts, ensuring projects are completed accurately and on-time.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain plant digital gaging including CMMs, roundness gages, and profilometers.
  • Drive all elements of 8D techniques to investigate root cause analysis, perform effective corrective action and prevent recurrence of significant quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Lead efforts to resolve and eliminate internal nonconformances.
  • Create and analyze process capability studies, machine capability studies, gage R&R studies to identify opportunities for systemic improvement in quality and cost.
  • Lead project activity and cross functional teams to execute continuous improvement plans to agreed-upon goals and budget.
  • Implement the Operator Quality Certification program within the area, including assessing, training and mentoring of the operators.
  • Support L6S teams, Kaizen events as requested through consultation, analysis and trials.
  • Assist in third party audit preparation and execution as requested, ISO9001, NADCAP, Customer, etc. This can include work instruction audit or revision, floor auditing, best practice research and training.
  • Write and revise Quality Management System procedures for use through-out the organization. Maintain the QMS documentation to ensure compliance to the applicable regulations and requirements. Oversee internal audits, assist internal auditors and document CAR/PAR's as necessary.
  • This individual may generate and/or handle regulated (i.
e. hazardous/non-hazardous) waste as part of this job. This must be disposed of in accordance with federal/state regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Science / Engineering or related business fields.
Preferred Qualiifcations & Skills:
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in quality systems and procedures in an Aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements for quality systems.
  • Good understanding of measuring techniques and tooling.
  • Good understanding of Six Sigma, Lean. and Kaizen Principles.
  • Strong leadership and problem solving ability.
  • ASQ Certification.
  • Prior experience in bearing environment.
