Position Description QCi is seeking a quality control engineer to work with its quantum machines manufacturing team. The Quality Engineer (QE) develops and maintains quality control plans to ensure the products meet required internal or external specifications. This includes designing test plans, defining inspection criteria, performing audits and evaluating production quality. Assist, as directed in meeting department goals and objectives as established by Management. This position will be responsible for supporting different teams such as Optical, Mechanical, Electrical in development of system architecture assembly and test plans Duties and Responsibilities Identify process inefficiencies by performing process audits and lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the company by using Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing or Kaizen practices. Ensures the company operations comply with the international standards i.e. ISO9001 industry regulations and customer specific requirements. This includes performing internal audits, participating in certification processes and managing the sites nonconforming product and corrective/preventative actions systems. Ongoing Quality Monitoring Analyze internal performance metrics (PPM, OTD, escapes, COPQ). Lead corrective action activities (SCARs, 8D, RCCA). Support containment and root cause investigations related to: Optical performance failures (MTF, transmission, surface defects) Alignment or tolerance stack-up issues Cleanliness / contamination concerns Risk & Reliability Management Assess process risks related to: Precision alignment Participate in reliability testing and environmental validation reviews. Reviews and approves change management process for product and suppliers Implement supplier improvement plans. Support Lean, Six Sigma, and process capability improvement (Cp/Cpk). Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising optical performance or reliability Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Optical, Electrical, Materials, or related discipline). 3-5 years of experience in Quality or Supplier Engineering. Experience in photonics, optics, laser systems, or high-precision manufacturing environments. Understanding of the entire Product Development Lifecycle starting from Concept to Launch of Product in the market. In depth knowledge of System requirements, system level integration, Assembly and test plans for components as well as system Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated competency with GD&T Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing 7+ years of experience in Quality or Supplier Engineering. Ability to gain additional knowledge via professional training in the following areas: Auditing skills. (ISO9001, TL9000, AS9100) Become lead trainer for internal employees (Lean manufacturing, 6S/ISO auditing skills and military standards for inspection) Proficiency with CAD and PDM softwares (Solidworks preferred)
