Production Quality Engineer Location:
Canal Winchester, OH (Relocation Not Available) Job Summary We are seeking a Production Quality Engineer to ensure product quality within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on improving quality systems, resolving customer issues, and driving continuous improvement across assigned production areas. The ideal candidate is experienced in injection molding, strong in root cause analysis, and comfortable collaborating across engineering, production, and customer teams. Required Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3-5+ years of quality engineering experience in injection molding (required)
- Strong background in root cause analysis (5Y, Fishbone, Mind Mapping)
- Experience supervising, training, or leading quality teams
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding quality standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, PQS, and quality documentation systems
- Familiarity with Kaizen, OEE improvements, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience managing customer complaints and supporting customer audits
- Ability to analyze production data and identify trends
- Experience developing capital requests or supporting ROI-driven projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Partner with Production, Design, and Mass Production Engineering teams to improve quality systems
- Conduct daily quality audits (Gemba walks) to ensure compliance with standards
- Lead investigations into customer or internal quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain and improve quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, etc.)
- Supervise and train quality technicians and auditors, including performance reviews
- Lead PFMEA and Bully Testing activities and implement lessons learned
- Analyze production data, identify quality trends, and ensure containment when needed
- Lead Kaizen improvement projects to reduce risk and improve OEE
- Provide training to peers and teams on quality tools and best practices
- Manage document control improvements and support customer audits
- Drive resolution of customer quality issues and ensure customer satisfaction Physical and Environmental Requirements This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing.
