$55.00-$60.00 B.O.E. About the Role We are seeking a self‑driven, highly skilled Lead Quality Engineer to serve as the primary onsite leader for First Article Inspection (FAI) Creation. This role is critical to completing onsite FAI data population, validating legacy inspection records, coordinating QE workflows, and preparing assemblies for final inspection. The ideal candidate is a strong leader , a natural problem solver , and an individual who thrives in environments where documentation is incomplete, workflows need structure, and cross‑functional coordination is essential. This person will also train and develop additional QE resources using a structured train‑the‑trainer model . What You'll Lead Onsite Execution Lead all onsite activities including: Retrieval and validation of legacy inspection data Completion of master specification requirements Physical file and record reviews Pre‑inspection readiness and workflow coordination Ensure FAI data is accurate, complete, and aligned with customer requirements. Serve as the onsite point of contact for the customer and Verify team. Training & Team Development Train incoming QE resources using the project's train‑the‑trainer onboarding model . Work with onsite personnel to translate tribal knowledge and undocumented workflows into clear, repeatable processes and deliverables. Ensure all QE team members understand FAI workflows, inspection requirements, and documentation standards. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution Identify gaps in historical FAI documentation and drive resolution. Work with onsite team to troubleshoot system access issues, system limitations, and workflow bottlenecks. Support mitigation strategies related to constraints, onsite access, and inspection readiness. Quality & Compliance Support Ensure compliance and validation of historical inspection data before incorporation into FAIRs. Ensure alignment with customer requirements, compliance expectations, and governance. Support standardization of workflows for FAI execution, peer review, and signoff. Cross‑Functional Coordination Maintain QE cadence meetings and weekly reporting. Communicate progress, risks, and resource needs to Verify and customer leadership. Collaborate with remote teams to ensure seamless handoff of FAI data deliverables. What You Bring Strong background in Quality Engineering , FAI , inspection planning , or aerospace manufacturing . Proven ability to lead teams , train others , and manage complex workflows . Experience with FAI software platforms , FAIR processes, or digital inspection systems (or ability to learn quickly). Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T and inspection data. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to work independently with minimal oversight. Excellent communication skills and comfort working across functions. Preferred Experience FAA/DOD FAI
