Job Description

Job Title:
Process Quality Engineer Job Description The Process Quality Engineer leads quality improvement and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, reducing cost of poor quality (COPQ), and improving overall operational efficiency using structured problem-solving and data-driven methodologies. The engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to enhance quality performance, strengthen quality systems, and support a mission-driven engineering culture centered on precision and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead process quality and continuous improvement initiatives across assigned production areas to enhance product quality and operational performance. Analyze workflows, space utilization, and production flow to improve efficiency and key quality performance indicators (KPIs). Plan and manage quality and process improvement projects, including defining scope, setting timelines, tracking deliverables, and reporting progress to leadership. Drive cross-functional quality and automation initiatives in collaboration with engineering, production, and other internal teams. Prepare, present, and communicate reports on quality performance, project status, and improvement results to stakeholders and leadership. Maintain, update, and improve controlled documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), change controls, and quality records. Lead or participate in quality reviews, internal audits, and management discussions to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify improvement opportunities. Collaborate with internal teams to investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions. Apply structured problem-solving tools such as PDCA, 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and root cause failure analysis to reduce scrap and COPQ. Support and promote continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Lean manufacturing principles, including SPC, FMEA, and DOE. Contribute to the development and enhancement of quality systems in alignment with
ISO 9001
requirements. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or an Associate's degree in a related field with at least 5 years of quality engineering experience. At least 2 years of experience in a quality or manufacturing engineering environment. Hands-on quality engineering experience, including process quality and continuous improvement activities. Proficiency in root cause analysis methods such as PDCA, 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and root cause failure analysis. Experience with quality systems and documentation, including CAPA, SOPs, change control, and quality records. Knowledge of
ISO 9001
quality management systems and requirements. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, and DOE. Ability to analyze processes and improve quality metrics, including efficiency, COPQ, and production flow. Experience with scrap reduction and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Strong communication skills to prepare, present, and explain quality performance and project results to leadership and cross-functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, particularly in automotive or industrial sectors. Exposure to automation, CNC equipment, robotics, and complex mechanical systems in a plant setting. Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, multinational team environment with exposure to global operations and cross-cultural collaboration. Interest in developing technical skills and growing into expanded engineering or leadership roles. Alignment with a mission-driven engineering culture focused on toughness, high quality, and know-how, with a strong emphasis on precision engineering and continuous product improvement. Work Environment The role is based in a stable, high-volume manufacturing facility that supports advanced manufacturing across multiple industries, including automotive and industrial sectors. The environment offers hands-on exposure to automation, CNC machinery, robotics, and complex mechanical systems within a plant setting.
