Job Description

Job Description The role of a Quality Engineer serves as a technical leader responsible for ensuring that all products meet safety, performance, and manufacturability requirements throughout the full product lifecycle. This position bridges the gap between product design, safety compliance, manufacturing, and customer-facing technical support. Responsibilities Ensure all products comply with applicable safety standards such as UL, VDE, CSA, and TÜV. Oversee product design, development, testing, and validation activities. Partner with Plant Engineering to ensure designs align with existing equipment, tooling, and production processes. Evaluate and manage product changes, revisions, and new component integration. Collaborate with Quality to ensure all materials, components, and finished goods meet internal specifications. Work closely with Purchasing and Supply Chain to understand supplier capabilities, manufacturing methods, and quality controls. Lead the Application Engineering team, including customer product evaluations, technical support, and quality issue and return analysis. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions related to product performance. Oversee new product introduction processes and internal lab testing. Ensure designs optimize manufacturability, throughput, and cost efficiency. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Engineering, Physics, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in product engineering, design, or manufacturing environments. Prior experience in leading or mentoring engineering teams. Strong knowledge of safety agency standards such as UL, VDE, CSA, and TÜV. Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment constraints. Experience with product lifecycle management and design validation. Ability to assess component performance and supplier quality. Familiarity with test labs, product validation, and compliance processes. Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Engineering Degree (associates or bachelors). Exposure to quality methodologies such as Six Sigma. Work Environment The work environment is cross-functional and highly collaborative, involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. It includes a combination of lab testing, production floor interaction, and technical leadership responsibilities. The focus is on delivering high-quality, compliant products while improving manufacturability and efficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Canton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
