Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) Illuminate USA, located in the heart of Central Ohio, is transforming solar panel manufacturing from our cutting-edge facility in Pataskala. As a new standalone joint venture established by two global leaders in renewable energy, we've rapidly grown to over 1,600 associates and are now fully operational in our 1.1 million-square-foot factory. Job Summary:
We are seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to support during‑sales quality activities, including Pre‑Shipment Inspection (PSI), Pre‑Shipment Testing (PST), and In‑Process Monitoring (IPM). This role serves as the primary interface with customers and third-party auditors, manages audits and inspection findings, and coordinates cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. The position is critical to ensuring high product quality, customer satisfaction, and effective nonconformance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with customer requirements by validating the latest version of quality agreements prior to PSI, confirming that correct inspection criteria and requirements are applied. Coordinate PSI/PST sample selection, scheduling with third‑party auditors and internal teams to ensure on‑time execution and shipment delivery. Validate inspection findings identified by customers or third‑party auditors; document issues and drive cross‑functional containment and corrective actions. Assist in witnessing loading inspections conducted by third‑party auditors. Assist in reviewing PSI test reports prior to submission and support PSI room operations, including equipment coordination, calibration, and reflow activities. Handle customer complaints and audit findings by driving corrective and preventive actions with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely response, closure and effectiveness. Oversee RCCA/8D activities related to PSI failures, IPM findings, and post‑shipment inspections, monitor implementation and track results to prevent recurrence, ensuring continuous quality improvement and sustained customer satisfaction. Support IPM activities, assess risk levels and drive containment action and improvements for key nonconformities. Conduct
CSAT/NPS
surveys, analyze performance gaps, and coordinate improvement actions with cross‑functional teams. Serve as the primary liaison during customer and third‑party audits, providing on‑site support and ensuring smooth execution. Engage with customers to understand expectations and align internal processes with customer requirements, driving continuous quality improvement. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (e.g., Chemistry, Physics). A minimum of one year of experience in customer quality, customer relations, or a related field. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams. Demonstrated learning agility and a strong interest in customer quality management. High level of ambition, self‑motivation, and self‑discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluent written and verbal communication in both Mandarin and English. Experience in solar / renewable energy, electronics or manufacturing preferred. Familiarity with electroluminescence (EL), electronic product testing, or similar inspection technologies. Knowledge of relevant standards such as
ISO 9001, ISO 2859, IEC 61215, ICE
61730, and
UL 61730.

$75,741.29 - $102,692.99 per year
