Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to oversee and optimize the quality management systems within our integrated manufacturing facility. This role spans precision sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, and multi-component assembly operations. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering and production, driving continuous improvement, resolving defects, and ensuring strict compliance with ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Quality Control:
Maintain and improve quality control plans, inspection criteria, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for metal stamping/fabrication, plastic injection molding, and manual/automated assembly lines.
Defect Root-Cause Analysis:
Lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) and 8D problem-solving processes to investigate manufacturing defects, molding flaws and metal fabrication errors.
Supplier & Material Quality:
Inspect and validate incoming raw materials, including steel sheets, resin pellets, and hardware components. Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP): Participate in new product introductions (NPI) by developing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and executing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
Metrology & Testing:
Utilize precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators) to perform dimensional layouts and verification on complex assemblies and molded parts.
Production Floor Auditing:
Conduct regular internal process audits on the manufacturing floor to ensure compliance with quality systems and customer requirements.
Data-Driven Improvement:
Analyze production data using Statistical Process Control (SPC) software to monitor process capability and drive scrap reduction initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Systems or a related technical discipline.
Multi-Process Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of quality engineering experience in a facility utilizing both metal fabrication/stamping and plastic injection molding.
Core Quality Tools:
Mastery of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA Problem-Solving Mastery:
Demonstrated experience leading 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone root-cause investigations.
Technical Proficiency:
Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, including
