Job Description
Quality EngineerPosition Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to ensure product and process quality across our manufacturing operations. The Quality Engineer will develop and implement quality control systems, drive continuous improvement, lead root-cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements. This role combines hands-on problem solving with data-driven quality methods to reduce defects, improve yield, and support production ramp-ups.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and maintain quality control plans and inspection criteria for manufacturing processes.
Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformances and reduce recurrence.
Monitor product and process performance using statistical methods (SPC) and quality metrics; report trends and recommend improvements.
Conduct first article inspections, incoming inspection, in-process audits, and final product verification.
Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions.
Create and maintain documentation including FMEAs, control plans, inspection instructions, and test procedures.
Train production and quality teams on inspection methods, quality standards and continuous improvement tools.
Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and customer requirements.
Participate in design reviews to provide input on producibility and design-for-quality.
Use data analysis tools to identify opportunities for cost reduction and defect prevention.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or related field) or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role or similar position.
Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and industry-specific requirements.
Experience with statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
Proficiency with measurement and test equipment, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing environments and production quality issues.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies; certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt) preferred.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with quality management software and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel).
