Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Reliability & Quality Test Engineer who will be responsible for environmental qualification, reliability, and ongoing verification testing of advanced electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) assemblies. This role will lead the development and execution of test strategies to validate product performance, reliability, and compliance with customer and military requirements throughout the product lifecycle. The position requires strong experience with environmental testing, data analysis, and qualification of complex electromechanical systems.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Mentor and train Test Technicians Direct work at the in-house testing lab for Design Verification Testing (DVT), environmental qualification testing, reliability testing, and ongoing product verification activities Develop qualification and reliability test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria Arrange and supervise testing at external suppliers, including managing Purchase Orders (POs), travel, and test schedules Execute and oversee environmental testing, including temperature, shock, vibration, humidity, and thermal cycling evaluations Analyze test data, investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and communicate findings to engineering teams Develop detailed test reports and present results to internal and external stakeholders Review contractual and customer requirements and ensure compliance with applicable standards Interface with customers, Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales organizations Support continuous improvement of test processes, laboratory operations, and product reliability programs Other duties as assigned, including Quality Management System (QMS) activities required to maintain certifications
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline 5-7+ years of experience in Reliability Engineering, Environmental Qualification Testing, Product Validation, Test Engineering, or a related discipline Experience developing and executing environmental qualification and reliability test programs Strong knowledge of temperature, shock, vibration, and environmental testing equipment, including test setup and programming Experience interpreting vibration profiles, environmental test results, and electro-optical system performance data Experience developing test plans, procedures, and detailed technical reports Experience performing failure analysis and root cause investigations Detailed record-keeping ability and strong planning skills, including familiarity with MS Project Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience testing EO/IR, imaging, surveillance, or other ruggedized electronic systems Experience performing qualification testing to MIL-STD-810 or similar military standards Experience with accelerated life testing, reliability growth testing, HALT, or HASS methodologies Experience working in aerospace, defense, or military electronics environments Experience directing and managing Test Technicians Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
