Location Pittsburgh (Cheswick), Pennsylvania A day in this role You start the morning walking the plant floor, reviewing overnight logs and trending data. A small construction package you drafted last week is kicking off; you brief in-house electricians and a contractor on safety, sequence, and drawings. By mid-day, you're running SKM studies to validate coordination and arc-flash labels before a planned outage. In the afternoon, you fine-tune a preventive maintenance standard for our 25 kV to 208/120 V distribution, then huddle with the Facilities Manager to refine a capital request. When a piece of equipment trips, you quickly diagnose the issue, implement corrective action, and capture lessons learned to feed back into predictive maintenance. What you'll own Coordinate facility operations and production support activities while reporting to the Facilities Manager. Author clear preventive and predictive maintenance work instructions; drive continuous improvement of PM/PdM programs. Prepare appropriation requests and manage project execution with internal electricians and external contractors. Analyze drawings, reports, and operating data to inform decisions and optimize resources. Define facility/equipment specifications; estimate project costs and develop/track budgets. Design and lead facility expansions, layouts, building systems, and quality controls. Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules for infrastructure and production equipment. Ensure cost-effective compliance with applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Troubleshoot equipment failures and facility emergencies; implement corrective and preventive actions. Deliver small capital projects end-to-end, including electrical installation design. Apply power distribution expertise spanning 25 kV down to 208/120 V. Use SKM to run short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash analyses. Reference and apply NFPA 70, 70B, and 70E. Oversee low-voltage infrastructure, including copper and fiber network cabling. Support fire alarm, security, and camera systems. What you bring U.S. citizenship (required by DoD program needs) and the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances/approvals. BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. At least 2 years of facilities engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on CAD experience. Strong command of codes, standards, and regulations, including NEC. High-voltage and Hi-Pot testing; familiarity with industrial electrical systems. Broad knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and high-voltage distribution.
