Job Description

Summary of Primary Responsibilities:
This position is a liaison between the quality department and the customer. It ensures that all Quality Nonconforming issues are responded to in a timely manner, and that each customer is updated concerning the status of any customer related activities. It is the responsibility of this position to build relationships with customers, and the production floor alike. Problem solving skills using Lean Tools will be required in this position to get to the root cause of the issue, and to ensure no reoccurrences. Data analysis and control will also play a key role in this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as designated):
  • Know and follow all applicable policies and procedures within our QMS System, including Hazard ID's and JSA's
  • Report all HSE incidents, accidents, near misses and potential problems in a timely manner
  • Will be expected to help train fellow employees in levels below them, sharing knowledge will help the department and PMG to grow. Training must be done per WI or Procedures
  • Engage with fellow employees to drive Continuous Improvement
  • Aim to have positive attitude and work together in a courteous and cordial manner. They should strive to help create an honest, trustworthy, and friendly work environment.
  • Use TPM and 5S Methodologies to help optimize equipment availability and improve plant cleanliness and organization by working with maintenance, fellow employees, and leaders to improve overall productivity.
  • Responsible to understand and use the Potential Problem Analysis Process and Form.
  • Coordinating containment activities (internal and external)
  • Generate and Respond to Quality Alerts
  • Maintaining corrective action log/meetings per requirements in a timely manner
  • Coordinate outside sorting for customer quality issues; with the goal of reducing or eliminating when possible
  • Reviewing and finalizing 8D report for customers; the focus will be on Root Cause and No Reoccurrences. Implementation Actions will be key, it will also be the responsibility of the QE to close out all Corrective Actions in their responsibility.
  • Issue and maintain RMA log
  • Communication to customer on status of concerns and quality issues in a timely manner
  • Coordinates, generates, and maintains FMEA, Control Plan, Work instructions.
  • Monitors status of open RCN's to Quality Manager.
  • Works with Engineering to developing gage design, instructions, training, and measurement instructions
  • Build and maintain SPC data collection system (Measurlink)
  • Order/track gages for new product launch
  • Monitoring new sample runs with production and engineering
  • Generate data collection when requested by customer or internal analysis
  • Lead PPAP activity generation, review and submission
  • Schedule, coordinate and review Annual PPAPs
  • Coordinate/support short/long term quality countermeasures on mfg issues
  • Oversee and maintain the RCN system
  • Support dispositioning/update of NCMR system (Non-Conforming Material)
  • Provide sorting/rework recommendations and instructions internal and external
  • Coordinate Gage R&R's and capability studies. This includes following Customer Specific Requirements and the AIAG 5 Core Tools
  • Program and troubleshoot CMM programs.
  • Interpreting and understanding customer drawings
  • Coach/train quality lab and manufacturing inspection techniques
  • Assist Quality Manager with supplier audits, customer corrective actions
  • Help, support and maintain supplier quality
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
  • Responsible for yearly review of rust audit completions and assigning rust audits to Quality Technicians or Sr. Quality Technicians
  • Responsible to participate in the completion of corrective actions.
  • Manage and Maintain Product in MRB
  • Use and Understand the IMDS Database
  • Support with duties of Department Manager where applicable
  • Responsible to review, understand and follow all documents in the QMS System
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience:
  • Bachelors in related field or 5 Years' experience in Quality Related Field or 6 years in Manufacturing environment
Other Qualification and Skills Required:
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical equations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to utilize various software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Office software (EXCEL, WORD, OUTLOOK), ERP system, and other internal systems.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
