We are currently seeking a Mechanical/Reliability Engineer to support our manufacturing operations. Position Overview The Grinding / Manufacturing & Reliability Engineer is primarily responsible for improving the reliability, stability, and overall performance of grinding equipment and manufacturing processes. This role focuses on identifying and eliminating recurring failures, developing sustainable reliability practices, and ensuring consistent, high-efficiency production. In addition, this position supports grinding operations through the development of CNC programs, manufacturing documentation, and inspection standards. This role ensures that all technical requirements are fully prepared and optimized prior to production while driving continuous improvement across both equipment performance and manufacturing execution. This position serves as a critical link between engineering, maintenance, and production by combining reliability strategy with hands-on manufacturing support, translating design intent into executable programs, processes, and long-term performance improvements. Key Responsibilities Reliability & Asset Performance Develop and implement reliability strategies for manufacturing equipment and manufacturing processes Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and process issues Identify and drive corrective actions to eliminate recurring failures Support preventative and predictive maintenance efforts (inspection standards, condition monitoring, etc.) Monitor and improve equipment performance metrics (uptime, MTBF, MTTR) Collaborate with maintenance and production to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime CNC Grinding Programming Create and optimize grinding programs Develop automated programming methods to improve efficiency and consistency Troubleshoot and refine programs during production startup Manufacturing Preparation Prepare production for customer demands and new product development. Prepare complete manufacturing release packages, including CNC programs, Manufacturing drawings, Routers, Inspection requirements Ensure all technical data is accurate and production-ready before release Drawings & Documentation Create and maintain manufacturing drawings and approval drawings Production Support Provide hands-on technical support to production Assist with troubleshooting programs and process issues Ensure successful launch of new jobs and process changes Drive automation and process improvements Focused on standardization, efficiency, and continuous improvement Autonomous Production Support in driving implementation of autonomous production by developing standardized processes, automated programming, and self-sustaining systems that reduce operator dependency and improve consistency Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience) Experience in tool manufacturing or similar high-precision environments Experience with CAD, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, CMMS Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment reliability principles Experience with troubleshooting equipment and performing root cause analysis preferred Highly detail-oriented and process-driven Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Comfortable working between engineering, maintenance, and shop floor teams Data-driven decision making as a key competency for the role Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Reaching overhead or at/below shoulder level Lifting, pushing, or pulling to move materials, tools, or equipment, sometimes involving heavy objects.
