3113 Position type Onsite Join the MEPPI Team! Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Quality Engineer II - Data Center Cooling Systems to join our fast-growing Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD), supporting the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our Data Center Cooling Solutions. This role is ideal for a mechanical engineer with experience in HVAC, thermal systems, or complex electromechanical equipment who enjoys troubleshooting field issues, driving corrective actions, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers. MEPPI's Critical Power Solutions Division designs and manufactures highly reliable UPS systems, switchgear, battery systems, and data center cooling solutions used in mission-critical facilities across North America. As we continue expanding our data center cooling portfolio, this role will play a key part in ensuring product quality, reliability, and long-term performance in the field. This position reports to the Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) Quality Department Manager and is required to work onsite at our Warrendale, PA facility.What You'll Do:
Support and lead root cause investigations for production, process and field quality issues in support of divisional goals. Support and lead corrective action development and implementation for production, process and field quality issues. Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions to improve quality performance. Analyze field service reports and identify trends to develop preventative action plans. Facilitate the use of the 8 disciplines (8Ds) of problem-solving techniques. Lead work with CPSD departments to develop 5-WHY and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA's) problem solving techniques for divisional needs as needed. Review, trend and close-out nonconformities and incidents on time and as required. Collaborate with suppliers, incoming inspection, in-process inspection, production and engineering to resolve in-process product assembly problems. Participate in and/or lead internal audits upon request. Work with all departments to help close audit findings in an effective and timely manner. Coordinate continued evaluation of procedures and documentation throughout the CPSD. Verify for completeness, accuracy and lack of redundancy. Facilitate in-house quality assurance and manufacturing improvement programs throughout CPSD. Assure quality records are generated, retained, stored, protected and disposed of according to CPSD and Company policies.What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field with 3-5 years' experience with a focus in HVAC or Data Center Cooling Systems or equivalent education and experience. Experience with Quality Assurance and manufacturing improvement practices such as Lean and Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Deming Methods, 5-Why, 8Ds, etc. (preferred) Familiarity withISO-9001
(preferred). Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and MRP/ERP systems. What's in It forYou:
