Field Engineer Total Resource Management Inc - 4.0 Alexandria, VA Job Details Contract 16 hours ago Benefits Travel reimbursement Qualifications Field service equipment repair Engineering equipment malfunctions diagnostics Content creation for technical audiences Technical documentation Technical writing experience within technology Field engineering Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking experienced Field Engineers with strong industrial equipment maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting expertise to support reliability improvement initiatives at asset-intensive industrial facilities nationwide. The Field Engineer will work directly with client organizations to assess equipment and maintenance practices, improve asset data and maintenance strategies, and support the implementation and optimization of
CMMS/EAM
systems. This is a contract position that combines remote work with travel to client facilities nationwide. All approved out-of-pocket travel and living expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy. Key Responsibilities Support reliability improvement projects at industrial and asset-intensive facilities. Develop, validate, and remediate asset master data and Functional Location hierarchies withinCMMS/EAM
systems. Develop, review, and remediate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for maintenance assets. Evaluate and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs and maintenance strategies. Apply condition monitoring and reliability-centered maintenance principles to improve equipment reliability and availability. Participate in equipment assessments, maintenance reviews, and field troubleshooting activities. Apply reliability engineering methodologies, including FMEA, to identify and mitigate equipment and process risks. Work with client maintenance, reliability, engineering, and operations teams to identify opportunities for improvement. Support data collection, analysis, validation, and development of actionable recommendations. Assist withCMMS/EAM
implementations, data improvement initiatives, and ongoing system optimization. Prepare technical documentation, findings, and recommendations for clients. Travel to client facilities as required to support project activities. Required Qualifications Proven hands-on experience with industrial equipment operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or field service. Strong understanding of industrial maintenance and reliability practices. Experience working in asset-intensive industrial environments. Experience withCMMS/EAM
systems and asset management processes. Ability to work independently in field environments and effectively interact with client personnel. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills. Willingness and ability to travel nationwide based on project requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the followingCMMS/EAM
platforms: IBM Maximo SAP Oracle Hexagon/Octave Asset Suite Other enterprise asset management platforms Reliability Engineering experience, including knowledge of FMEA and related methodologies. Experience with preventive maintenance optimization and condition monitoring. Advanced data analytics or data management experience. Professional reliability certifications such as CMRP or CRL. Experience in power generation, manufacturing, energy, utilities, or other asset-intensive industries. Military experience is highly valued, particularly experience involving equipment maintenance, operations, logistics, reliability, or technical systems.Position Structure Employment Type:
