Job Description

A globally leading consumer device company based in Culver City, CA is looking for a Program Quality Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Support new programs in development by establishing quality systems, measurement methods, and analyzing build results to ensure products meet the design specifications. Analyze build data in order to confirm process capability and identify areas that require attention from Product Design and Process Engineering. Lead a cross-functional team across time zones to resolve issues through data driven Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA). Establish new methods for monitoring and reporting status, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT). Implement best practices and learnings across manufacturing sites and products. Succinctly communicate key updates to senior management and the executive team.
Qualifications:
Technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent. High volume manufacturing experience with a detailed understanding of advanced product quality planning, production processes, testing, kitting, and packaging (e.g., consumer electronics, automotive, medical devices, etc.). Proficiency in GD&T, metrology, and measurement equipment and techniques. Experience with statistical techniques including SPC, sampling AQLs, measurement system analysis (GR&R), process capability (Cpk). Ability to discern different degrees of cosmetic defects in order to establish cosmetic specifications with Product Design. Problem-solving skills utilizing quality tools and capable of identifying the root cause of challenging problems and implementing corrective actions with stringent deadlines. Strong proficiency in JMP and/or Minitab, including statistical analysis, SPC, regression, process capability, and visualization. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage and drive issues to closure. Knowledge of Quality Systems, Design of Experiments, Reliability Methods/Models. Experience with using AI/ML tools to assist in data analysis and building new tools to simplify workflows. Experience with automated inspection systems.
