Job Summary We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Quality Liaison to support a Tier-1 automotive interiors supplier working inside a major OEM vehicle manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, SC. In this role, you will serve as the on-site quality representative—bridging the supplier's production/engineering teams with the OEM's quality organization. You will identify non-conformances, coordinate containment, support root-cause analysis, and deliver clear, professional communication to both plant-floor teams and OEM stakeholders. This position is ideal for an experienced automotive quality professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving problems directly on the production floor, and brings strong communication and customer-facing skills. Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications to be considered)
- 3-8 years of experience in automotive or Tier-1 supplier quality roles
- Strong familiarity with IATF 16949 and/or
ISO 9001
quality management systems
- Proficiency with 8D, 5P, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action methodologies
- Competent with Excel (data analysis) and PowerPoint (OEM-facing presentations)
- Strong communication and customer-relationship skills across plant and leadership levels
- Ability to work flexible 1st-shift hours; min. 30 hrs/week, up to 40 hrs/week)
- Local to the Spartanburg area; no relocation or sponsorship
- Comfortable working in a high-paced manufacturing environment with strict safety protocols
- Ability to remain on-site until issues are resolved, based on production needs Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have, not required but valuable)
- Prior experience as a Quality Liaison, Resident Engineer, Customer Quality Rep, or Quality Technician
- Background with automotive interior systems (glove box, instrument panels, center/door consoles, plastics)
- Experience with Minitab or basic statistical tools
- Familiarity with PPM, scrap reduction, and COPQ improvement initiatives
- Experience developing Work Instructions and containment plans
- Associate's or technical degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related discipline (preferred, not required) Day-to-Day Responsibilities (Key tasks and expectations)
- Act as the on-site customer-facing quality representative between supplier and OEM teams
- Identify, document, and contain non-conforming parts (including photos, data, and traceability)
- Develop Work Instructions and obtain OEM approval for containment activities
- Support and communicate 8D/5P root-cause and corrective action progress
- Prepare and present daily/weekly Excel and PowerPoint quality reports to customer teams
- Participate in OEM quality meetings, delivering status updates and clean-point communication
- Track key performance metrics including PPM, scrap, defects, and COPQ trends
- Provide hands-on support for sorts, firewalls, and rework activities as needed
- Maintain strong professional relationships with OEM quality contacts and supplier leadership Physical and Environment Requirements This role is performed in a manufacturing environment and may require:
- Standing, walking, and moving between production areas for extended periods
- Lifting, inspecting, and handling parts (up to 25-50 lbs depending on component)
- Wearing required
