Job Summary
Description:

Lockheed Martin is seeking a motivated and driven Quality Engineer Senior Staff for a position based in Grand Prairie, TX. The position will provide support to the GMLRS Program.

What You Will Be Doing

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing support for various LM Sites and Suppliers for Quality Management System oversight including audit, investigation, and inspection needs
  • Providing guidance and mentorship support for Development, Transition to Production, Production, and International Quality Engineers throughout the Product Life Cycle
  • Supporting, facilitating, and leading strategic and complex initiatives to resolve recurring Quality issues
  • Traveling to LM Sites and Suppliers with Quality Engineers for knowledge continuity, subject matter talent development, and risk mitigation
  • Identifying gaps in processes/procedures and implement solutions to support Go Faster and lean continuous improvement initiative
  • Sharing technical and business acumen with Quality Engineers to support learning tacks and technical interchange discussions
  • Performing Product Line Validation (PLV) Failure Review Board (FRB) and Material Review Board (MRB) duties and mentorship
  • Interfacing with and present to customer, suppliers, LM sites, and cross-functional program personnel on quality related issues

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

The selected candidate must be able to obtain an Secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
  • STEM Degree at the Bachelor level or above, or Equivalent Experience
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Ability to travel (typically around 25-50)
  • Experience building relationships with internal and external customers
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable industry standards (AS9100, ISO9001, FAR, DFAR, etc.)
  • Experience interpreting drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and translate into work instructions
  • Ability to interpret requirements that will enable development and review of Quality Processes, and related performance metrics
  • Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques
  • Experience in disposition of non-conforming products and failure review boards/ investigations with causal analysis tools
  • Advanced experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Desired Skills:
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Prior leadership or people management experience
  • Special Process Engineering experience
  • Manufacturing of various commodities experience
  • Able to work without appreciable direction
  • AS9102 first article inspections, hardware source inspections, and performing audit/surveillance on supplier production processes/procedures experience
  • Apriso and SAP Application experience
  • Mentoring and training of peers experience
  • Process capability analysis and interpretation, gage R&R, or measurement system analysis experience
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • written, oral, listening and technical writing

The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
