Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pipeline Integrity Engineer to lead and manage integrity-related projects and implement and build upon processes within the Integrity Management Plan (IMP). This role is critical to maintaining the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of our pipeline assets.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensures compliance with MPLX Mechanical Integrity (MI) program, maintains program records through APM and supports documentation in accordance with applicable standards such as API 510/570/576/580/etc.
  • Develops and manages Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) protocols and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor program effectiveness and drive appropriate risk mitigation strategies for critical fixed equipment.
  • Schedules and coordinates field inspections, ensuring timely review and quality assurance of contractor deliverables across assigned asset base.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for fixed equipment during both planned and unplanned outages, and provides support for incident reviews, MOC items, and field evaluations.
  • Develops and manages inspection program budget and tracks for assigned programs and areas of responsibility.
  • Supports area of responsibility with incident reviews, management of change items, and audits within subject matter expertise.
  • Supports planned and unplanned plant outages by planning inspection activities, managing contract resources, assisting Operations with downtime workload, and managing enterprise outage tracking system.
  • Analyzes trends from fixed equipment incidents to recommend and develop improvement programs; manage special emphasis programs and assist in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Serves as a resource for audits and quality assurance efforts related to MI program, ensuring program integrity and adherence to standards.
  • Works closely with Integrity and Reliability team members (Planning, Reliability, Pipeline Corrosion) to ensure alignment across functions and consistent program execution.
  • Prepares accurate and timely reports, procedures, and guidance documents; participate in professional development, recommending and pursuing relevant training and certifications.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Three (3) years of related experience required. Valid Driver's License Required.
Preferred Skills:
Strong knowledge of pipeline regulations (49 CFR Part 192/195) as well as industry standards such as B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8. Experience with ILI data analysis and data integration. Excellent project management and communication skills. Experience with integrity software tools (e.g., Pipeline Toolbox, Risk Assessment platforms). Working knowledge of coding languages (Python, SQL) and backend data systems. As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.
