We are seeking an entry level Commissioning (Cx) Engineer to support the planning and execution of the MEP Cx process from design to building handover. Ensuring MEP systems are installed, tested, and operate according to design specifications and client requirements. Role Overview The Cx Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Cx process from concept through final handover, and into occupancy. Working closely with design teams, contractors, and clients. This role is critical in validating system performance, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and minimizing operation issues after Cx. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and implementing detailed Cx plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation. Assist in developing and maintaining Cx documentation, including installation checklists, status reports, functional testing forms, Cx reports. Participate in installation review/verification, testing, and Cx of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems. Help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues identified during the Cx process to ensure optimal system performance. Gather and analyze system performance data to assess system efficiency and operation. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. Participate in technical meetings, coordination meetings, and handover acceptance processes. Identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, maintainability, and reliability.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field from an EAC/ABE-accredited university required, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
0-4 years in Cx, test & balance, or related engineering roles; experience with HVAC and MEP systems preferred.
Certifications:
ASHRAE, BCxA, or equivalent commissioning certifications are a plus.
Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, and control systems; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Soft Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; problem-solving, and organizational abilities; ability to work independently and as part of a team. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
