Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards, including
AS9100, ISO
9001, and customer-specific requirements. This role involves reviewing, cross-referencing, and approving customer drawings, specifications, and related documents. As the primary contact between customers and our sites, you will manage customer documentation to ensure it is approved, released, and communicated effectively.
Responsibilities:
Review, cross-reference, and approve customer drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure compliance with quality standards. Serve as the primary contact between customers and sites for customer documentation. Ensure documentation is routed for approval and communicated upon release. Maintain industry standards and ensure subscription fees are paid. Handle purchase orders for industry specifications, subscriptions, and translation fees. Act as an interface for parts per million (PPM) metrics. Participate in second-party audits as needed.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or a related technical field. 3 years of experience in quality engineering, document control, or configuration management, preferably in aerospace or defense. Strong understanding of AS9100 and
ISO 9001
quality management systems. Familiarity with aerospace specifications and engineering documentation standards. Experience with document control or configuration management systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, or root cause analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Configuration Management (CMII) preferred. Experience working with NADCAP, FAA, or DoD requirements. Knowledge of digital document workflows and PLM system integration. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to travel up to 10%.
Work Environment:
The position is on-site from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with potential for longer hours and days towards the end of the month. The work involves both on-the-floor and desk activities. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hampton, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
