A quality engineer for the Storm Door Wood Core product line in Luray cares about our customers, enjoys working on a high performing team of engineers/technicians, loves solving problems, and relentlessly improves processes and products. You will work with quality, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, maintenance, product development, and our suppliers to ensure that our products conform to standards and exceed our customers' expectations. You will have opportunities to grow both personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact on product quality and customer satisfaction!POSITION PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide quality leadership for assigned value stream/product line(s), working cross-functionally to continuously improve quality and quality systems Ensure conformance to control plans and capability to specifications, using statistical process control and data to identify special causes and reduce variation Provide reports and data on key metrics and lead targeted improvement efforts Plan and conduct supplier audits and onsite visits to evaluate process capability, verify conformance to specifications, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving Perform or assist with PPAP, gage R&R, PFMEA, and process mapping on assigned product line(s) Qualify changes to product, process, equipment, and gauges, and assist with equipment troubleshooting Train and coach associates on quality systems, specifications, and expectations Develop, improve, and evaluate test methods and associated instruments/gauges Perform quality investigations, write CAPAs and deviations, and make assessments of non-conforming materialPOSITION MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field A minimum of 3 years quality work experience Ability to work independently and manage priorities with limited onsite supervision Passion for solving problems and continuous improvement Ability to interpret quality requirements from drawings/specifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency Experience with PDCA, A3, DOE, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagram, Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC Strong knowledge of quality management and lean manufacturing principlesPOSITION NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years experience in a manufacturing, continuous process environment Working knowledge of quality systems, standards, measurement tools, and inspection systems. Knowledge of PFMEA, SPC, CAPA, process capability and Lean manufacturing principles Minitab and Power BI skills ASQ Quality Engineer certification Mechanical inclinationPOSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY
Ability to travel up to 25% by car and air, including overnight trips Ability to stand for extended periods of time on the production line Ability to lift up to 50 lb Ability to work a flexible work schedule Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) on the production floor Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (including noise, dust, and temperature variation) Ability to perform occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs/steps as needed Ability to use a computer for extended periods to analyze data and prepare reportsPAY RANGE

PROFIT SHARING
In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate.
