Job Description
Job Overview Role supports the key fundamentals of manufacturing; Safety, Quality, Productivity as well as cost reduction initiatives through Quality process development and Quality process improvement projects. This internship is located at our Roanoke, Virginia production facility.
Work Monday-Friday:
8:00am to 5:00pm Pay starts at $21.50/hr Highlights of your role Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), including compliance withISO & WDMA
Hallmark certifications. Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for previously undocumented processes and modify existing SOPs as necessary. Collect, analyze, and monitor Quality data and performance metrics to identify defect trends and improvement opportunities. Lead and participate in formal problem-solving activities to drive corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and reduce rework. Develop, perform, and schedule internal quality audits, manage supporting documentation, and communicate audit results to key stakeholders. Support "Quality at the Source" initiatives via assisting in integration of Quality checks into production processes. Collaborate with and train associates on Quality specifications and processes as necessary. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) Must be working towards a bachelor's degree in Industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a Quality-related Engineering field. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification preferred. Demonstration of strong written and oral communication skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required. Ability to learn & use measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, feeler gages, measurement probes, and optical comparators a plus. Experience with tools such asA3, 8D, 5
Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Swimlane Flowcharts, Kaizen, FMEA, DoE, SPC, and Gage R&R a plus. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
