Pilgrim Road employees produce engines and transmissions for the final assembly plant in York, Pennsylvania, as well as transmissions, and replacement parts for sale through Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories business. Job Summary The Sr Resident Engineer serves as a technical expert and critical liaison between H-D powertrain design, development, quality, and operations teams. In this role, you will drive quality and value-improvement initiatives across Engineering, Service, Marketing, and Manufacturing while partnering closely with quality and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and implement solutions. As part of a team of senior-level engineers, you will lead, execute, and coordinate key projects, while monitoring and reporting on project outcomes and overall effectiveness. Being a senior-level Engineering position, expertise in powertrain components and related manufacturing processes is required. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined and customer-focused, ensuring business needs are met while upholding our Quality vision of creating "Customers for Life." This role reports to Current Product Quality Engineering at the Product Development Center but is based at Pilgrim Road Powertrain Operations in Menomonee Falls, WI. Job Responsibilities Provide Engineering guidance and resources to support Powertrain Operations and Product Development, as it relates to improving quality and risk mitigation of production motorcycles through Engineering Changes and Product Deviations. Collaborate with our global assembly plant engineering teams in India, Brazil and Thailand to help troubleshoot issues abroad. Drive root cause analysis and troubleshoot plant and supply quality issues dealing with paint, plating, machining, assembly, castings, and forgings. Support iPPAP and PPAP for current product changes. Lead and mentor employees in the use of quality tools, techniques, and methodologies to measure, monitor, report, and improve business performance. Support the implementation of running change projects. Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree RequiredEducation Specifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related technical degree. Experience Requirements Required Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience Demonstrated skill and experience leading and organizing engineering groups. Demonstrated experience and success in solving complex technical problems. Proven track record providing appropriate technical resources and expert guidance for product development teams. Demonstrated high-level understanding of motorcycle systems and parts. Preferred Engineering Change Management Product Deviation Notices Experience in APQP processes and techniques including but not limited to PPAP, IPPAP, PFMEA, and DFMEA Strong Knowledge of GD&T. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to influence across the organization. Champion or participate in Corrective Action Requests (CARs) identified by the Plant or the Quality Planning and Performance Team. Knowledge of key systems and processes within Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Quality, Product Development and Service. Experience in using problem solving using tools and techniques such as Six Sigma or Red X. The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
