Job Description:
The Reliability Technician is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for and deliver results in the Manufacturing group/function. The Reliability Equipment Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment through predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance practices. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing equipment performance, identifying failure modes, and implementing reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform vibration analysis using Emerson AMS software to monitor equipment health and identify early signs of failure Implement and sustain a site-wide lubrication program, including maintaining accurate records in Lube-It Delrin lubrication management software Provide daily oversight and guidance to lubrication technicians to ensure compliance with lubrication standards and schedules Perform extruder specialist work, including precision alignment, screw and barrel inspection, and performance analysis Execute predictive and preventive maintenance activities on rotating and process equipment Troubleshoot mechanical issues on pumps, motors, compressors, gearboxes, and extrusion systems Analyze equipment failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence Support reliability improvement initiatives, including condition monitoring programs and asset life extension efforts Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to optimize equipment performance and uptime Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, standards, and documentation Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards Participate in equipment inspections, audits, and reliability assessments Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance activities to minimize downtime Recommend improvements to maintenance processes, tools, and equipment design Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports in CMMS systems Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new or modified equipment
Ideal Profile:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred 3-7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, reliability, or mechanical technician role Demonstrated experience with vibration analysis and predictive maintenance technologies Working knowledge of lubrication best practices and lubrication management systems Experience with extrusion equipment, including screw and barrel analysis and alignment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability tools Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Preferred Qualifications Certification in vibration analysis (e.g., ISO
CAT I/II
) Experience in chemical, polymer, or manufacturing environments Knowledge of reliability methodologies such as RCM or FMEA Work Environment Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to rotating equipment, noise, and varying temperatures Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional call-outs or overtime Based in Parkersburg, WV.
