Job Description
Battery Engineer Elkhart, IN 46514 Up to $55 an hour - Full-time, Contract Up to $55 an hour - Full-time, Contract Ownership of Design Verification and Validation plan for specific project for Battery Product
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans and procedures for battery modules and high voltage battery packs for performance, durability, and abuse
- Create and maintain system and sub-system Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R). Draft and release test plans. Host Test Readiness Reviews.
- Collaborate closely with the Test House and design team to define DFMEA, test requirements and ensure testability of new battery technologies and designs.
Risk Mitigation & Governance:
Lead and approve high-stakes technical assessments, including DFMEA, PFMEA, and DVP&R. Ensure "Read Across" activities are integrated into the global design cycle to prevent repeat issues. Preparation, execution and documentation of testing activities on battery packs and modules Regular reporting on all verification and validation activities Close co-work with Product Development Lead, Battery Systems Engineers and Mechanical Engineers, Electronics Engg on specific project Support to a multidisciplinary team (Manufacturing Department, Battery Assembly team, Purchasing and Logistics departments) Support to ongoing product and process improvement Author test scripts for equipment including cyclers, chambers, chillers, and DAQ systems Own data storage and visualization Analyze test data and generate test reports, evaluating compliance with requirements and identifying issues or opportunities for improvement Main tasks Development of Battery Design Verification and Validation plan (DVP plan) Organization, planning and managing of in-house testing activities Organization, planning and managing of external testing activities Communication with external testing laboratories Creating detailed test specification Creating all relevant technical documentation (manuals, instructions, DUT specification, etc.) On-site support and supervising for both in-house and external testing laboratories Analysis of test results Creating test reports Support during DFMEA processPay:
