Role description:
We are seeking a Project Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer to join our dynamic Water Business Line in Southern California. In this role, you will lead and support the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater pipeline projects for municipal, utility, and private sector clients.Role accountabilities:
As a Project Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer, you will lead and manage the design and delivery of water and wastewater pipeline projects, encompassing feasibility studies, preliminary and final design, as well as construction support. You will be responsible for developing alignments, performing hydraulic calculations, and preparing detailed design drawings and specifications for water, sewer, and recycled water pipelines. Acting as a technical point of contact for clients, you will attend meetings and support business development activities. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams that include civil, structural, environmental, and construction management professionals. You will ensure that all deliverables meet Arcadis' quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering (or related discipline)
- 6+ years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of water and/or wastewater pipeline projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in civil or mechanical engineering
- Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., InfoWater, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS)
- Proven experience coordinating with public agencies, utilities, and permitting authorities
- Experience with trenchless technologies, condition assessment, and rehabilitation of pipelines
- Experience supporting or leading construction administration
- Background in sustainability, climate resilience, and integrating digital tools (e.g., BIM 360, ArcGIS)
- Active involvement in professional organizations (e.
