Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Are you interested in helping restore river habitats and enhance fish passage? DWR is looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking leader to supervise the Riverine Stewardship Engineering Unit in the Statewide Restoration Initiatives Branch. As supervisor, your team will work with programs such as Fish Passage Improvement, San Joaquin River Fish Population Enhancement, and Urban Streams Restoration—within the Division of Multibenefit Initiatives (DMI). Your role will involve supervising engineers as they design and carry out a range of restoration efforts, such as river and floodplain habitat enhancement projects, fish passage improvements, and providing technical support for grant-funded initiatives. You'll head a multidisciplinary DWR engineering team and coordinate with consultants to develop restoration strategies for anadromous fisheries, riverine areas, and floodplain/riparian habitats. Additionally, you'll work closely with the Section Manager, scientific and engineering staff, and managers on planning and designing restoration and green infrastructure projects. Part of your responsibility will be to build partnerships and foster collaboration with groups outside DWR, including local, state, and federal agencies, Tribal governments, water rights holders, landowners, and communities.
