- Full-time About the Role We are a Miami-based civil engineering firm designing land development projects that moves, protects, and sustains South Florida communities.
We serve some of the top developers Globally and work directly with local agencies — including Miami-Dade Water and Sewer (WASD), FDOT, and municipal public works departments — on water/wastewater systems, stormwater drainage, roadway design, and site development projects. This is a senior leadership position. You will serve as the firm's lead engineer, overseeing all civil engineering design and production, managing a team of engineers and offshore drafting staff, and representing the firm in client and agency meetings. You will report directly to the CEO and work alongside the firm's Chairman and licensed Professional Surveyor. This is not a role where you execute someone else's vision. You will own the engineering function — from conceptual site planning through permit approval and construction. What You'll Do Lead all civil engineering design for the firm, including paving and drainage, water and sewer distribution systems, stormwater management, pump station design, and site grading across residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and mixed-use projects. Serve as the primary technical authority on all engineering deliverables, reviewing and approving plans, calculations, and specifications before submission to clients and regulatory agencies. Manage and direct the engineering production team, including in-house engineers and overseas drafting support. Set priorities, assign projects, review work product, and ensure quality and schedule adherence. Represent the firm in pre-application meetings, plan review conferences, and design discussions with Miami-Dade WASD, FDOT, SFWMD, DERM, municipal public works departments, and other regulatory agencies. Lead client-facing engineering discussions with developers, general contractors, and design teams. Translate complex engineering requirements into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders. Navigate the full permitting lifecycle — from Environmental Resource Permits through construction permits — and manage the comment-and-response cycle with reviewing agencies to move projects through approval efficiently. Oversee engineering project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation. Identify capacity constraints early and coordinate with firm leadership on staffing and workload balancing. Contribute to business development by leveraging existing agency and industry relationships to support client acquisition and project pursuit. Participate in proposal preparation for developer projects and municipal RFPs. Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development, including guidance toward PE licensure. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for design review, redlines, and when needed, production.
