In this role, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of a variety of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Midwest. Project work will include water distribution systems, water transmission mains, and sewer collection systems that help communities maintain reliable and sustainable utility services. The role will also support select stormwater and drainage projects, including municipal storm sewer systems, conveyance improvements, and stormwater management initiatives. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and innovative solutions for our clients. This opportunity involves assisting with the preparation and modification of engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents for water and wastewater projects. You may also contribute to stormwater analyses, drainage studies, hydraulic evaluations, permitting support, and related design documentation. Working alongside project teams, you will contribute to projects from initial planning and design through final delivery. The Water/Sewer Engineer II performs engineering analyses, research, calculations, and design tasks while applying standard engineering principles and practices. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise in utility infrastructure design, including pipeline hydraulics, utility modeling, system improvements, and rehabilitation projects. Additional opportunities may include stormwater system modeling, drainage design, flood resiliency considerations, and green infrastructure evaluations. The successful candidate will leverage engineering knowledge, industry tools, and design software to support project execution, evaluate design alternatives, and deliver high-quality solutions for municipal clients throughout the Midwest. As a member of the team, you will play an active role in the successful delivery of projects that improve the resiliency, reliability, and performance of critical water and wastewater infrastructure systems while also supporting stormwater solutions that enhance community sustainability, drainage performance, and infrastructure resilience.
What You'll Do:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided. Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations. Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates. Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files. Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects. Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience
What You'll Bring:
Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric and algebraic principles in your work. Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad or other software as required for job assignments.
What We Prefer:
