Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Engineering About the Opportunity NonStop Consulting is supporting a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong presence across the U.S. in their search for a Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Engineering based in Buffalo, New York. The organization is known for delivering complex infrastructure projects that enhance environmental sustainability and protect public health, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and long-term client partnerships. This role offers the opportunity to lead technically challenging projects, oversee multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the delivery of resilient water and wastewater infrastructure across the Buffalo region. Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of end-to-end delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure assignments, from early-stage planning through to completion
- Direct project execution by coordinating internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders
- Monitor project performance, ensuring alignment with financial targets, timelines, and technical expectations
- Act as the primary interface for clients, maintaining clear communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to the preparation of technical submissions, bids, and supporting documentation for new and ongoing work
- Ensure all engineering outputs meet applicable industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and internal quality benchmarks
- Balance priorities across several active projects, maintaining consistency in delivery and client satisfaction
- Provide guidance and technical support to less experienced team members Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline; postgraduate qualification considered an advantage
- Extensive experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects in a consulting or engineering environment
- Demonstrated capability in leading projects, including planning, coordination, and execution phases
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Strong technical understanding of water and wastewater systems and associated regulatory considerations
- Solid commercial awareness, with experience managing project budgets and resource allocation
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal teams
- Familiarity with project delivery tools and standard engineering software
