Job Description
LJB Inc. is a national engineering firm with more than 50 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, geospatial, safety, health, and environmental services. LJB Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer in Dayton, Ohio to help grow our Water Resources Practice in Ohio. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of progressive water resources engineering experience, strong technical judgment, and the ability to lead projects, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff. This person is comfortable working independently, collaborating across disciplines, and delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables.
Interface with clients, stakeholders, and public agencies to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
Collaborate with internal teams, including CAD designers, EITs, and GIS technicians, to develop comprehensive engineering solutions.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
PE license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or equivalent software.
Strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (2D modeling experience preferred).Knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater management regulations.
Familiarity with GIS tools and applications.
Experience with ODOT standards and hydraulic-related pre-qualifications.
Demonstrated client/project management experience.
Strong leadership, time management, and organizational abilities.
Ability to solve complex engineering challenges with sound judgment and creativity.
Ability to work effectively both independently and across multidisciplinary teams.

Salary Range:
$91,000 - $140,000 base salary, based on experience, certifications, and regional market standards.Benefits:

Lead the planning and design of a wide range of water resources and civil infrastructure projects, including: Stream and wetland restorationDam remediationFEMA floodplain analyses and permitting (No-Rise, LOMR, CLOMR)Culvert and bridge replacementStormwater planning and designWatershed studies and asset managementSite/civil development and public utility designProgrammatic engineering support Manage and deliver engineering projects from concept development through final design, permitting, and construction support.Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables.

SENIOR WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in water resources.PE license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or equivalent software.
Strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (2D modeling experience preferred).Knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater management regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Water Resources.Familiarity with GIS tools and applications.
Experience with ODOT standards and hydraulic-related pre-qualifications.
Demonstrated client/project management experience.
