Job Description
Do you ask "what if?" and prove it with rigorous analysis? Join Westinghouse and turn complex LOCA scenarios into confident decisions that keep BWRs safe and efficient. Role snapshot Perform design‑basis LOCA analyses for BWR units using proprietary system codes. Translate plant drawings/specs into high‑fidelity models. Interrogate results, validate assumptions, and deliver audit‑ready documentation. Field plant‑specific inquiries on LOCA behavior from internal teams and customers. Track and apply plant licensing bases to ensure compliance. Apply and critique correlations for two‑phase flow and heat transfer. Quantify impacts of design or operating changes on safety analyses. Reporting & location Reports to the Manager, BWR Safety & Analysis. Work remote within the U.S. or in a hybrid setup in Cranberry Township, PA. Required background BS in Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering. 4+ years in the nuclear sector. 4+ years of safety analysis experience.
