Job Description Under general supervision, performs basic to moderate complexity calculations, modeling, data analysis, designs, on site evaluations and/or other similar evaluations for water resources projects (

Ex:

climate change adaptation; coastal analysis and engineering; collection systems; CSOs; dams; drainage; economics and planning; ecosystem restoration; flood management; green infrastructure; groundwater; hydroelectric power; hydrology and hydraulics; integrated resource planning; irrigation; open channels; outfalls; planning; pressure conduits; probability and risk analysis; reservoirs; sedimentation; spillways, gates, and outlet works; stream, rivers and wetlands; stormwater management; urban watersheds; water law and regulations; watershed management; water supply planning and systems; and water quality, etc.). Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff. Utilizes Technical Knowledge Management systems (TKM) and TKM material. May pose technical questions that support development of the TKM body of knowledge. May support TKM content development as directed. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference. Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Amount of Travel Required:

10% Skills and Abilities Intermediate knowledge of GIS software and practices. Intermediate Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Intermediate Knowledge of engineering principles of design. Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics as appropriate for technical work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
