Description Your role at GEI. Our Atlanta, Georgia office is seeking a driven and experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer to add technical, project management, and business development expertise to our growing dam and water control practice. The ideal candidate will provide high level technical support to our current industry experts and clients, bring new business to GEI, while also helping mentor and guide our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with one or more of the following: flood control structures (i.e. dams, spillways, levees, floodwalls, etc.); stormwater management and design; or floodplain management. The desired professional must possess strong leadership and communication skills and be proficient in report and proposal writing, presentations, and business development. There is flexibility with a hybrid work schedule as part of this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. degree in either Water Resources, Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or related field. Professional Engineering license required (preferably in Georgia or a surrounding state). 20+ years progressive experience in engineering with extensive technical background in field of expertise and at least 5+ years in project management and client relationship management role. Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following, with advanced technical skills in at least one of the following: municipal and state contracts; floodplain regulations and management; FEMA levee accreditation, inspection, or design; FERC hydropower inspections, design, and compliance; state or municipal dam inspections, design, and compliance; hydraulic and hydrologic analysis and modeling; or stormwater management, master planning, or design. Experience preparing high quality proposal documents. Experience managing projects and/or a team of people. Well established relationships with local and regional agencies and clients in the southeastern US. Ability and willingness to travel periodically.
