Job Purpose:
Responsible for providing proactive student outreach, recruitment, and intensive enrollment counseling through various interactions with prospective students, businesses and industries, high schools, and community organizations. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Recruitment, Admissions, and Orientation, the successful candidate will effectively recruit, enroll, and transition students into the College by engaging with diverse audiences within Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties; advocate for the College's ability to provide economic mobility for students while supporting individual student and overall College enrollment goals. The Enrollment Counselor will be able to work in an efficient and effective manner through implementation of College and department policies and procedures; able to utilize critical thinking, creativity, organization, and professional problem-solving skills; able to effectively communicate with and serve diverse populations; and able to provide supportive counseling for a wide range of student goals, expectations and concerns. Meets monthly/departmental enrollment goals; ability to actively contribute to a community of practice focused on collaboration, continuous learning, and student-centered improvements; is able to lift, carry, or move up to 30 lbs to set-up and breakdown displays and event equipment; flexible to work some evenings and weekends as assigned; able to maintain a valid driver's license to travel between multiple campuses and recruiting locations. Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):
COUNSELING
Counsel and assist students in all aspects of the admissions and enrollment processes, providing guidance of available opportunities provided by Tri-County. Provide comprehensive, equity-minded guidance and support to students in their decision-making process through the development of financial, educational, and career plans based on the individual students needs and goals. Support the College in building a strong sense of belonging for incoming students.
RECRUITMENT, EVENT, AND TERRITORY MANAGEMENT
Design and develop content for admissions workshop/presentations. Provides outreach and recruitment for the College via multiple modes, representing Tri-County's values of respect, learning, and professional growth. Guide specific student types through the admission funnel to help reach the College's enrollment goals and fulfill strategic enrollment management initiatives. Deploy communications plans and maintain accurate records to measure successes and determine areas for improvement. Makes recommendations on ways to improve the conversion yields from prospect to enrolled.
STUDENT INFORMATION
Access, interpret, and update student information via the College's Student Information System(s). Perform data entry for all student interactions via those systems. Analyze individual and departmental processes, making individual improvements and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of work and communication to students.
CAMPUS COLLABORATION AND KNOWLEDGE
Provide seamless integration of services by maintaining robust and current knowledge of campus wide programs, requirements, and services available to students. Connects students to other campus partners based on individualized needs. Provide information relevant to application and College deadlines. Assist students in making program changes and updates. Maintain current knowledge of Corporate and Community Education programs, special population programs (such as IBEST, Bridge, Dual Enrollment), academic programs and requirements, as well as competitive program admission requirements.
ENROLLMENT SERVICES SUPPORT
Provide assistance with Enrollment Management & Educational Partnerships initiatives as assigned. Serve on appropriate College committees by representing the department, division, and/or transitioning student perspective. Perform job responsibilities with a culture of care, respect, and professionalism.
OTHER:
Performs other duties as assigned. A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
